British asparagus, which is reckoned by many to be the best, is a little delayed this year due to bad weather. Our chefs have been eagerly awaiting delivery of this vegetable delicacy from our local supplier, Sandhutton Asparagus. To accompany our new dishes using Yorkshire's finest asparagus, we recommend the following wines:
Gerard Bertrand Naturalys Viognier 2016
A medium bodied wine from Languedoc / Roussillon area of France. Intense aroma of white flowers, honeysuckle, pear, peach and citrus - a reminder that summer is on its way. Smooth and rich flavoured finish.
Perfect with cured meats, oriental flavours and most dishes with a stronger flavour so will go well with our new specials starter; Fresh asparagus, crispy duck egg, serrano ham and herb pesto.
Macon Villages 2016 Domaine de L’Elite
A floral fruity nose, made from 100% Chardonnay. Shows fresh fruit, a touch of mineralogy and a pleasing dry finish. Great with Grilled fish and butter sauces, so the perfect accompaniment with Pan fried hake, asparagus, samphire, baby prawns with saffron and parmesan sauce!

Alie Rose 2016 Frescobaldi, Italy
A balance of Syrah and Vermentino. Wild strawberries on the nose. The perfect aperitif!
Gris Blanc Rose 2016
Pale crystalline colour and fresh aroma. Perfect with seafood and Asian flavours.
Carte Noire Rosé 2016, Les Maitres Vignerons de St Tropez
Fairly rounded rosé with a good weight that smells like summer. Fleeting notes of wild berries with a crisp finish. The unique bottle shape is synonymous with the region. Great with spicy pork dishes and summer salads.
